Fundraising

Ok, update time (22/05/2012). We have no more fundraising events planned, now we get to spend it all! Thanks to all that came to our events to see us suffering on the rowing machines in front of the unfeeling Auckland public and to watch the Avengers movie and finally to those that participated in the West End Quiz Night. We have also received many messages of best wishes and advice for both on and off water antics. We had a flag signed by the Quiz Nightees and we will be flying this over at Henley.

We have enjoyed our time hosting and being out talking to so many random people about what we are doing and what we hope to achieve over in the U.K. We have raised over $9000 to help us achieve our goal, which is well above the target that we set below!

As part of our preparation to get to Henley, we are currently fundraising to cover the cost of :

   - Accommodation
   - Food
   - Boat hireage
   - Boat transport
   - Regatta entries
   - Boat insurance and licencing
   - Some travel costs
   - Miscellaneous costs

In order to pay for all of this we need to raise about $6000NZ. To this end, we have organised a few fundraising events:

   - Erg-a-thons: Where we set up a rowing machine out in public and we get to complete a training session in front of the walkersby. There have been three already and we have a one more in the bag, details will be posted on the main page.

   - Olympic send off: We organised the catering for the Club event, see the pictures on the Pictures tab

   - Movie Night: We organised a movie night where more than 120 people came along. It was great to see everyone there! (Henley Movie Night)

   - The Great West End Quiz Night: We have a Quizmaster organised to entertain and puzzle you with questions that you know the answers to, it's just on the tip of your tongue... We now have a date for the evening - Friday 18th of May. Check out the link to the quiz night above.
